MISSION
Operation Financial Forward (OFF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering military members and their families by enhancing their financial well-being. With pending 501(c)(3) application status, OFF is dedicated to serving those who serve us.
In 2022 the DOD reported that 14% of the force was classified as “Low food insecure” while an additional 10% were identified as “Very food insecure.”
A 2021 study shows that 22% of Active-Duty families had less than $500 in an emergency savings fund or no fund at all.
THREE PILLARS OF THE MISSION
1. FINANCIAL LITERACY
We are committed to equipping military members and their families with comprehensive financial knowledge, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and understanding to make informed financial decisions.
2. FINANCIAL PLANNING
We provide personalized financial planning guidance to military personnel, enabling them to establish and pursue their long-term financial goals effectively. Through tailored strategies, OFF empowers individuals to build financial stability and secure their futures.
3. WORKING TOGETHER
We aim to foster a supportive community that promotes financial resilience and continual progress. By cultivating connections and partnerships, OFF encourages individuals to actively engage in their financial journey and inspire others to do the same.
OUR WHY
Our Co-Founder, Chase D'Amato, was a Company Commander when the post COVID-19 inflation impacted the global economy. Together with his wife, Katherine (CEO), they witnessed the far-reaching consequences of inflation on Soldiers and their families who were already facing financial vulnerabilities.
While in business school at Emory University (2022-2024), Chase learned how simple financial literacy and financial planning really are. Pairing his wife's passion for helping others with his business education was a no-brainer way to bring assistance forward to those who need it most.
OPERATION FINANCIAL FORWARD TRUTHS
Always move forward: Securing financial freedom is a long journey and will take years. Behavior and habits can be changed immediately. When in doubt, do the right thing and keep moving forward.
Knowledge is the foundation of financial empowerment: Acquiring knowledge and understanding the fundamentals of financial literacy and personal finance is essential for financial freedom.
Financial habits shape long-term outcomes: Cultivating positive financial habits, such as budgeting, saving, and responsible borrowing, is critical to long-term success. How you spend your money is more important than how much you make.
Planning for the future secures financial freedom: Set financial goals and create an actionable plan. Hold yourself accountable. When stuff goes wrong, revert to rule number 1.
Financial well-being is about more than just money: Increasing your financial well-being will positively impact your emotional and physical well-being. Share our mission with others so that we can help as many people as possible.
